This is the form factor and set of features I have been waiting a long time for. Most everything you need for media is built into this unit in a very sleek, sexy package. We have the player mounted on the wall right under the TV and not only does it look great (you can hide all the wires), it is very accessible.
We are able to download and watch instant movies from Netflix with no problems. Very, very cool.
So far, it plays our existing DVD's and CD's without issues.
We can stream music, video and image content from our home network attached storage drive media server (Netgear Stora) via wi-fi with no problems.
Takes a little setup, but nothing unduly difficult. You just need to know the IP address of your media server along with account and password.
The Auto Network Search feature can find other computers on the network and access their shared folders, but we had to use the manual search to find the media server by IP address.
My box has a port on the back, inside a recessed cove, for the wi-fi dongle along with all the other plugs and it is completely hidden. There is also a back cover plate that hides all the cords and plugs and the dongle even if viewed from behind. However, there is also another USB port on the outside of the unit intended for downloading firmware or adding a memory stick, so maybe those who say the wi-fi dongle sticks out are plugging it into the USB port??
A definite raving thumbs up from me with a couple of wish list items, (and these are all software related) ...
1) Wish the player would remember the last network streaming connection(s). Have to do the manual search to find our media server each time the unit powers on. It remembers the last info you input, you just have to go through the screens each time, so I will probably program a smart remote to do all that.
2) Wish the player would remember the last play list or have multiple persistent play lists. The single playlist disappears when unit is powered off.
3) Would love ways to quickly navigate through large lists of media on screen rather than just scrolling away (search, alpha jump to keys, etc)
Maybe these will be features of a new firmware version...

This is a fantastic blu-ray player. I read the reviews and was hesitant but I knew how great Amazon was with returning something if I wasn't happy, so I took a chance. I am so glad I did. I've had it for more than a month now and LOVE IT!! I have tried every kind of DVD in it, older DVD's from my library, new Blu-ray ones and even some I had copied on my computer or made on my VHS to DVD transfer machine. It played ever single one of them with no problem what so ever!! I have yet to find one that won't play! Easy set up too. The quality of the picture is amazing, it really is all Samsung says it is. I absolutely love the other features too. It comes with WiFi already installed so that I was able to download movies directly from Netflix without a problem. You do have to have a membership with Netflix but I love downloading movies. It's great! I also love "Pandora" which is FREE music with no commercials. I listen to that a lot, it has every conceivable type of music you could want. You can tell I love this machine. The one thing that surprised me was it loads from the right side not the front so I was unable to put it in my cabinet. That was no problem for me because I have a shelf under the TV. It comes with a wall mount which I didn't use but could be handy for some people. All in all, I haven't found anything I don't like about it, it's worked perfectly since I got it. Samsung did it right!!

Far and away the best DVD player I have ever had. It's design is great and the fact that you can use Netflix online and Blockbuster online is a real selling point. Easy setup for everything too. Will buy another one for the other room soon.

THIS WAS FAIRLY EASY TO SET UP WIRELESSLY, (IT DID TAKE 1 CALL TO SAMSUNG TECH SUPPORT WHO TOLD US SOMETHING WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN OURSELVES), AND FROM THAT POINT ON THE SYSTEM WORKED FLAWLESSLY. SO FAR WE HAVE USED IT ONLY TO WATCH NETFLIX MOVIES AND TV SERIES, BUT IT'S EASILY WORTH THE PRICE JUST FOR THAT FEATURE ALONE.
LIKE ALL OUR AMAZON.COM PURCHASES, THIS ARRIVED SOON AFTER THE ORDER WAS PLACED AND THE PRICE WAS THE BEST WE FOUND ANYWHERE.

I received this player as a Christmas gift and was initially very pleased. I have since returned it. It does look very nice and is slim - matches the Samsung LED TVs perfectly. I had no problems playing the two Blu Ray movies I had available and the video output looked great.
Responsiveness (load time and button clicks) is slower than expected coming from a DVD player, this is apparently a problem with many Blu Ray players so I didn't hold it against the player. I was very pleased with the Netflix performance. The streaming services are a huge boon and the only way I would justify spending money on a blu ray player - of course adding other services would also be nice. Why Amazon's Video on Demand isn't included (it is on some of the higher end Samsung HDTVs) is a mystery to me.
Wireless overall was good; although download speeds appear to be much slower than they should be with the adapter (the firmware download took about twenty minutes) - though to be fair that could be Samsung's servers fault. The interface seemed intuitive to me and required little use of the manual.
The deal breaker for me was that the player refused to play normal DVDs. After trying several different DVDs, I gave Samsung a call and according to them I should not have updated the firmware - that this somehow led to the player not being able to read DVDs. The explanation sounded rather shady to me and the only solution Samsung proposed was sending the player to them for repair (how a firmware issue requires a hardware repair is beyond me... or maybe they have to do the reset at the factory). Regardless, not being able to play DVDs was a huge issue for me and I had no interest in going through the return/service experience.
