Received player on date I was told it would be there. Packed very well.
It works very well with by new 46" HDTV. It is a little noisy when it first starts up but you do not hear it when movie is playing. I plan on down loading movies from internet, which this player does event though you must buy plug in device to receive wireless signal. So far I am pleased with unit.

Works fine at first. The disk drive can be loud at times when trying to read the disk. Two weeks after purchasing, the dvd player stopped working. "This disk can not be played" is displayed for any dvd I put in. Blu-ray disks still seem to work. After reading other reviews from amazon and other stores, it looks like a lot of people are seeing the same problem with the BD-P1600.
Don't buy this one.

I have to say that the seller was right on with delivering the dvd player and I got what I ordered and liked what I saw especially the netflix feature, but the disk drive would open voluntarily while I watching a movie so I sent it back and got a refund. By the way...I bought a upconverter last year and was expecting a huge difference with the blu-ray but my eyes couldn't tell the difference. I would have kept it for the netflix and you tube features if it had worked properly.

Despite some negative reviews, I purchased this player and have been completely satisfied with it. The key to this player that sets it apart is the connection various online services. IF you won't be connecting it to the internet, or if you need a wireless connection, look at other players (An additional $80 wireless dongle is needed to connect this player via wireless).
Playing blu ray discs it performs superbly, with great picture, sound, and fast load times (Much faster than my Sony 350). There's nothing special to the Blu Ray capabilities, it does what it's supposed to and it does it well.
If you are looking for a true centerpiece 'hub' for home entertainment, the Netflix instant streaming feature and Pandora internet radio will make this player wow you! Netflix movies are very high quality streams and have great selection, and Pandora lets you listen to virtually any music on earth through your entertainment system. Though Netflix is an extra fee, subscriptions start at $8.99 per month including unlimited streaming. Check it out!

Only complaint is that the buttons on the player itself do not light up therefore impossible to operate in a dim room. Additionally, the remote buttons are not backlit creating the same issue for the remote. Luckily, my universal remote mitigates that issue. Other than this issue, the player works great!
